Gaza Situation Dramatic, Attacks Cannot Be Justified – Meloni

Rome: Premier Giorgia Meloni on Wednesday condemned the humanitarian situation in Gaza amid Israel’s war against Hamas and repeated her call for a ceasefire. “I reiterate that the situation in Gaza is dramatic and that no military action can justify attacks against civilians,” Meloni said at a press conference with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune at the fifth Italian-Algerian intergovernmental summit.

According to Ansa News Agency, Meloni emphasized the importance of international efforts to ensure that hostilities come to an end. She highlighted the need for a serious process to restart towards achieving a two-state solution. Meloni’s remarks were made in the context of ongoing discussions with President Tebboune, where the focus was on finding diplomatic solutions to the conflict.

Meloni’s comments come at a time when the international community is increasingly concerned about the escalation of violence in the region. The Italian-Algerian summit provided a platform for both leaders to voice their commitment to peace and stability in the Middle East.
