Rome: Protesters hailing Hamas at the head of pro-Palestinian marches are not infiltrators but an integral part of the events, Premier Giorgia Meloni said Tuesday. “I have great respect for the demonstrations; I’ve organized countless ones,” she stated during her appearance on Cinque minuti, broadcast this evening on Rai1.

According to Ansa News Agency, Meloni emphasized that the violence witnessed at these marches was organized and pre-planned. She clarified that this orchestration was not by the event organizers but pointed to a broader phenomenon. A prominent banner at the march praised the terror of October 7th, which raised concerns about the motives and participants of the event.

Meloni argued that when individuals who express support for Hamas terrorism are allowed to lead the march, it challenges the notion that they are mere infiltrators. Despite these concerns, she reiterated her respect for those who participated in the demonstrations, recognizing their commitment to a heartfelt issue.
