Ambassador Sorrentino Engages with Grand Inga’s Director General on Hydroelectric Project
Kinshasa: Italy’s ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Dino Sorrentino, met with Bob Mabiala, the director general of Grand Inga (Adpi -Rdc), in Kinshasa. The meeting centered around the Grand Inga hydroelectric project, a significant initiative on the Congo River, which is currently in its third phase of development.
According to Ansa News Agency, the Grand Inga project is part of a broader sustainable and holistic economic development program aimed at transitioning Congo from an extractive economy to a regional industrial hub. The project has been identified as a strategic priority for the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The Italian Embassy in Kinshasa has confirmed that Italy will play a crucial role in the 2026 roadshow, focusing on energy, green infrastructure, and partnerships. This involvement underscores Italy’s commitment to supporting sustainable development initiatives in the region.
