Ambassador Buccino Hosts Piedmont Delegation and Vuelta Director at Amboage Palace

Madrid: Ambassador Giuseppe Buccino Grimaldi received a delegation from the Piedmont Region at the Amboage Palace. The delegation included Claudia Porchietto, undersecretary of the Presidency, Jos© Urso, head of the Presidency’s Cabinet, and Davide Balena, head of the Presidency’s Great Events. Also present was Javier Guill©n, the general manager of the Vuelta a Espa±a cycling race, as informed by the embassy in a note.

According to Ansa News Agency, the meeting was part of the institutional mission organized in Madrid by the Piedmont Region during the 80th edition of the Vuelta, which commenced for the first time in Italy with its inaugural stage on August 23 from the Palace of Venaria Reale. The event was aligned with statements made by Antonio Tajani, Vice President of the Council and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, at the inauguration of the second “Day of Italian Sport in the World.”

During the reception, Ambassador Buccino Grimaldi emphasized the role of sports diplomacy in Italy’s growth strategy and praised the Piedmont Region for its achievements in promoting regional attractions and enhancing bilateral relations with Spain. The reception followed an event at the Italian Cultural Institute, organized in collaboration with the local Enit office, which focused on showcasing Piedmont’s tourism and food and wine offerings to operators and the specialized Spanish press.
