Women’s Six Nations Rugby Championship 2025 Unveiled in Bologna

Bologna: The 2025 edition of the Women’s Six Nations rugby championship is set to commence on March 22, with the Italian women’s national team making its debut on March 23 in York against England, the current titleholders. The Italian Rugby Federation (FIR) officials, technical staff, and players gathered at the Macron Campus in Bologna to outline the upcoming challenges for captain Elisa Giordano and her team, starting next weekend.

According to Ansa News Agency, the presentation event occurred in the ‘Sala dei Sogni’ of the Macron Campus. Key figures in attendance included Antonella Gualandri, vice-president of the FIR, Fabio Roselli, the national team coach, Sofia Stefan, vice-captain of the Azzurre, Giammaria Manghi, coordinator of Sports Policies of the Emilia-Romagna Region, and Gianluca Pavanello, CEO of Macron.

This year, the Women’s Six Nations will benefit from extensive television coverage. Sky will air the matches, and all games involving the Italian women’s team will be broadcast live and free-to-air on Rai state broadcaster channels. FIR vice president Antonella Gualandri expressed anticipation for the tournament and acknowledged Macron’s support for hosting the event and their ongoing collaboration.

The Italian team will play against Ireland at the Lanfranchi Stadium in Parma on March 30. Following this, Scotland-Italy will take place on April 13 at the Hive Stadium in Edinburgh. The Azzurre will then face France in Parma and conclude the tournament with a match against Wales on April 26 at the Emilian stadium.
