Spalletti Banking on High-Scoring Forwards for Nations League Showdown Against Germany

Milan: Italy coach Luciano Spalletti is relying on some of Serie A’s top scorers for the upcoming Nations League matches against Germany in Milan on Thursday and Dortmund next Tuesday.

According to Ansa News Agency, Spalletti’s squad includes Atalanta’s Mateo Retegui, who has netted 22 goals in 29 games, Fiorentina’s Moise Kean with 15 goals, Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca with 10, and Napoli’s Giacomo Raspadori with four goals this season. This selection marks a significant milestone as it is the first time since the 2013/14 season that the top two scorers, Ciro Immobile and Luca Toni, have been part of the same Azzurri squad.

The inclusion of these prolific scorers highlights Spalletti’s strategy to leverage their goal-scoring capabilities in the crucial matches against Germany. The upcoming fixtures are expected to test the mettle of these forwards as Italy aims to secure favorable results in the Nations League.
