Vinitaly.USA 2nd Edition Brings 250 Italian Wine Firms to Chicago

Chicago: The American market remains a focal point for Italian wine as the second edition of Vinitaly.USA is set to commence at Chicago’s Navy Pier. Scheduled for October 5 and 6, this event, alongside the wine2wine Vinitaly Business Forum, aims to bolster the presence of Italian wines in the United States.

According to Ansa News Agency, the event is organized by Veronafiere-Vinitaly in collaboration with ITA – Italian Trade Agency, Fiere Italiane, and the Italian-American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest-Chicago. It will feature over 250 exhibitors, showcasing a wide array of Italian wines. These include renowned brands in the U.S. market and regional representatives from regions like Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Piedmont, Sardinia, Umbria, and Veneto, as well as consortiums such as Prosecco DOC and Brunello di Montalcino, among others, with more than 2,000 labels on display.

Veronafiere President Federico Bricolo highlighted the significance of the event, stating that they anticipate over 1,500 professionals, including buyers and importers, to attend. He emphasized that Vinitaly.USA serves as a crucial hub for Italian wine in the United States, offering opportunities for new business areas that Veronafiere aims to explore. The event will feature a diverse program, including 16 masterclasses and approximately 35 international discussion sessions, covering topics such as market trends, North American opportunities, tariff strategies, and wine tourism, which aims to enhance the connection between territory and promotion.

Veronafiere Director General Adolfo Rebughini noted that Vinitaly.USA is a platform to seize the opportunities within the American market, reinforcing the presence of Italian wine in key states. He pointed out that Chicago is a vital starting point for a long-term strategy, supported by new promotion tools like Vinitaly Tourism, which positions wine tourism as a strategic component for the growth of Italian wine and the promotion of regional beauty.
