Vatican City: The Vatican will confirm that King Charles III will be received by Pope Francis only a few days before the event, the Vatican press office stated. This announcement follows Buckingham Palace’s revelation of a potential audience on April 8.

According to Ansa News Agency, the Holy See has a protocol of announcing state visits to the Pope only shortly before the actual visit. The Vatican emphasized that King Charles’ visit to Italy, which involves more elements than just the meeting with the Pope, has been prepared for a considerable period.

Additionally, Pope Francis has been hospitalized with pneumonia in Rome for over a month and is not expected to be discharged soon.
