Urgent Action Needed for Auto Sector, Meloni Tells VDL

Brussels: Premier Giorgia Meloni had a meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Brussels on Thursday ahead of the EU summit, the premier’s office said. It said the talks focused on Italy’s priorities for the summit, starting with issues regarding competitiveness, the climate transition, and simplification.

According to Ansa News Agency, Meloni also reiterated the need for urgent measures to support the automotive sector and energy-intensive industries, particularly in relation to reducing electricity prices.
