UniCredit Announces Record Q1 Profit and Strategic Partnership with Google
Milan: UniCredit unveiled record-breaking first-quarter profits and announced a strategic 10-year collaboration with Google aimed at enhancing its digital infrastructure using Google Cloud.
According to Ansa News Agency, Italy’s largest bank reported a net profit increase of 8.3% for the first quarter of 2025, amounting to 2.8 billion euros. CEO Andrea Orcel expressed confidence in surpassing the 2024 profit figure of 9.3 billion euros, which the bank had initially projected to match.
Orcel highlighted the bank’s impressive performance, stating, “UniCredit posted an outstanding set of first quarter results beating across all KPIs and widening our positive gap vs. peers. We delivered the best quarterly results in UniCredit’s history and the 17th quarter of consecutive profitable growth.”
He acknowledged the increasingly complex macro environment but emphasized the bank’s strong investment case and earnings visibility, which he believes will benefit shareholders. Orcel also expressed the bank’s commitment
to enhancing its 2025 net profit and distribution forecasts while maintaining its 2027 goals.
In his remarks, Orcel reiterated UniCredit’s dedication to consistent, high-quality performance and support for clients and communities during challenging times.
