Pro-MAGA Posts by Pope’s Brother Published by US Media
Port Charlotte: Posts showing support for Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement by one of Pope Leo XIV’s older brothers, Louis ‘Lou’ Prevost, were published by US media outlets on Monday. Lou Prevost, who resides in Port Charlotte, Florida, recently shared MAGA memes and insults against former US President Barack Obama and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
According to Ansa News Agency, The Daily Beast discovered Lou’s posts, which remain visible on his social media page. Lou’s comments include a critique of liberals who oppose tariffs, referencing unproven allegations related to Paul Pelosi. In another post, he suggests that his “leftist” friends discontent with Trump’s victory should “hibernate” for the next four years.
Lou Prevost’s posts express strong opinions on the Democratic Party, describing them as close to communists and accusing them of trying to destroy American values. He asserts that figures like Kamala Harris and the Democrats will harm the country. His posts also delve into anti-vaccine and anti-woke sentiments, using derogatory language.
In his remarks to the New York Times following his brother’s election as Pope, Lou did not reveal his MAGA inclinations. He humorously reflected on his childhood with Leo, contrasting his own non-pacifist stance with that of his brother. Lou suggested that Pope Leo XIV might adopt a more conservative approach compared to his predecessor.
