Two More Femicides Reported in Italy Amid Rising Concerns


Rufina: A woman was found dead with stab wounds in her home in the province of Florence town of Rufina early on Saturday, and a man confessed to killing a woman child minder in Milan in the latest in an alarming spate of femicides in Italy. In the first case, investigators suspect that the 34-year-old woman was murdered by her 37-year-old husband, who is in Florence’s Careggi hospital in a critical condition after he threw himself from the second-floor of the apartment building in an apparent attempt at suicide following the murder. The dead woman leaves behind a two-year-old child.



According to Ansa News Agency, in the second case, Pablo Heriberto Gonzalez Rivas confessed to killing Jhoanna Nataly Quintanilla, a 40-year-old from El Salvador who had been reported missing, and hiding her body.
