Truck-School Bus Collision Near Como Results in Fatality and Injuries

Como: One person died and several were hurt in a crash between a lorry and a school bus carrying elementary pupils near Como. The accident took place at approximately 4:30 pm along the Pedemontana, at Lomazzo (Como), in the section that passes through a tunnel under the hamlet of Manera.

According to Ansa News Agency, an initial reconstruction of the incident indicates that the collision involved a truck and a school bus transporting elementary school children. The crash resulted in one fatality, while two individuals were classified as red code, indicating serious injuries, and 25 as green code, indicating minor injuries. Fortunately, none of the children sustained serious injuries.

Emergency services, including 118 vehicles and firefighters, responded to the scene. The accident prompted the closure of the A36 motorway to traffic as authorities managed the aftermath and worked to clear the area.
