Janitor Dies After Falling from Supermarket Roof While Working to Supplement Income
Serradifalco: A school janitor tragically fell from the roof of a supermarket and died in Sicily on Monday while working to supplement his income.
According to Ansa News Agency, the 55-year-old man, identified as Salvatore Cumbo, died in Serradifalco, located in the province of Caltanissetta, after falling from a height of over three meters. The unfortunate incident took place at a supermarket on Via Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto, where Cumbo was assembling panels.
Cumbo, who was employed as a school assistant, had taken on the task of installing panels on the building as an occasional job to help make ends meet, based on initial information. Despite the swift response of the 118 emergency medical service, which deployed a helicopter, paramedics found that there was nothing more they could do upon arrival.
The Carabinieri were called to the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
