Toffaloni Sentenced to 30 Years for Role in 1974 Piazza Loggia Bombing
Brescia: Former neofascist militant Marco Toffaloni has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for his involvement in the 1974 Piazza della Loggia bombing, which resulted in the deaths of nine people in Brescia. At the time of the attack on May 28, 1974, Toffaloni was only 17 years old and is now a Swiss citizen aged 67.
According to Ansa News Agency, Toffaloni was absent during the trial held at the Brescia minors’ court. The court concluded that he was among the “material perpetrators” of the bombing, a tragic event that was part of a broader period of violence known as the Years of Lead, marked by leftist and rightist political violence from the late 1960s to the early 1980s.
