Tajani Requests Assurance for Italians’ Safety in Gaza Aid Mission

Rome: Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has announced that he requested Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar to ensure the safety of Italians participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla, which is on a mission to deliver aid to Gaza.

According to Ansa News Agency, Tajani, who is also the leader of the centre-right post-Berlusconi Forza Italia party, emphasized the importance of non-violence during any potential Israeli intervention. He conveyed his concerns during a conversation with Sa’ar, urging for measures that would prevent harm to the Italians involved.

Tajani further advised the Flotilla to consider the warnings from the President of the Republic about the risks of approaching territories under Israeli naval control. He stressed that the Italian navy would not be able to escort the Flotilla’s ships to breach the blockade, highlighting the potential dangers of their mission.
