Syrian Air Defenses Intercept Israeli Missile Attack on Military Sites


DAMASCUS: Syrian air defense systems intercepted an Israeli missile attack targeting military sites in the southern and central regions early Saturday. The operation began around 2 a.m. local time, according to the Sana news agency.

According to Anadolu Agency, the missiles were launched from the occupied Syrian Golan Heights and parts of Lebanon. Air defenses managed to shoot down several missiles, and efforts are ongoing to assess the full impact of the attack. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

Simultaneously, Israel announced that its military conducted “precise strikes” against military targets in Iran, with explosions reportedly heard in Tehran. Israeli army spokesperson Rear Adm. Danial Hagari confirmed the strikes, stating that the Israel Defense Forces are actively targeting military sites in Iran.
