Trkiye Condemns Israeli Attack on Iran, Calls for International Action

ISTANBUL: Trkiye has condemned Israel’s recent military strike on Iran, urging the international community to intervene to prevent further escalation in the region. The Turkish Foreign Ministry criticized Israel’s actions, linking them to broader regional tensions and conflicts.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement denouncing Israel’s attack on Iran in severe terms. The ministry accused Israel of aggravating regional instability by engaging in actions it described as genocidal in Gaza, plans to annex the West Bank, and violence in Lebanon. It warned that these actions, coupled with the latest attack on Iran, have brought the Middle East to the edge of a broader conflict.

Trkiye’s Foreign Ministry emphasized the urgency of ending what it referred to as “Israeli terror” to ensure international security and peace. It called on the global community to take immediate measures to curb Israel’s actions. The statement also reiterated Trkiye’s stance against further war, viole
nce, or lawlessness in the region, advocating for a rational and cooperative approach to achieving peace in the Middle East.

The attack in question resulted in the death of at least two Iranian soldiers after Israeli forces targeted military facilities in Iran. This was reportedly in retaliation for Iran’s ballistic missile attack on Israel on October 1. The White House has urged for a cessation of hostilities between the two nations and cautioned Iran against retaliating, warning of unspecified “consequences.”

Iranian military officials had previously stated that any offensive by Israel would provoke a strong response, indicating the potential for further escalation if diplomatic solutions are not sought.
