Rome: Stellantis on Tuesday denied reports that Carlos Tavares would receive a 100 million euro golden handshake after resigning as CEO of the Italo-Franco-US carmaker.
According to Ansa News Agency, Stellantis dismissed the media reports as “very imprecise and far from reality” in a statement addressing the financial terms of Tavares’ resignation. The company emphasized its policy of not disclosing details of employee resignations, including those of managers, unless required by law to do so. However, it acknowledged the obligation to disclose CEO remuneration in its annual remuneration report.
Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani commented on the situation, stating that he had previously renounced severance pay during his tenure as a European commissioner and expressed hope that others would follow his example.
