Miskolc: A significant step was taken towards addressing the need for human resources in social professions, as highlighted by Attila Flöp, State Secretary responsible for care policy of the Ministry of the Interior. Speaking at a press conference held at the University of Miskolc, Flöp, a KDNP politician, underscored the global discourse on finding the best ways to replenish manpower across various professions. The event was held prior to the signing of a cooperation agreement between the University of Miskolc and the Margit Slachta National Social Policy Institute.
According to KDNP, Flöp stressed the importance of identifying young talents in the helping professions to secure the future of this field. He emphasized the need for innovative solutions and new training programs, asserting that merely updating professional protocols is insufficient. This year marked the launch of care policy training as part of a master’s degree, resulting in a significant increase in applicants for higher education in the fie
ld. The University of Miskolc, as the first foundation university to collaborate with the Slachta Margit National Social Policy Institute, joins three other church-run universities in this initiative.
Flöp expressed optimism that in the coming years, a growing number of young professionals from the University of Miskolc will enter the social sector. He highlighted the university’s role in renewing training and care fields, indicating the government’s intention to increase the number of professionals experiencing care at a high level.
Tibor Tóth, Director General of the Slachta Margit National Social Policy Institute, elaborated on the goals of the agreement, emphasizing the institute’s commitment to supporting the University of Miskolc in offering new assistance courses. This collaboration aims to jointly implement the master’s course in care policy, with the objective of modernizing assistant training and ensuring a high level of supply in the workforce.
Zita Horváth, Rector of the University of Miskolc,
also spoke at the event, highlighting the institution’s role as a regional knowledge center. She detailed the university’s efforts to promote sustainable development in the region using its resources. The cooperation agreement was officially signed by Zita Horváth and Tibor Tóth, marking a milestone in the partnership between the university and the national institute.
