Spalletti Signs as New Juve Boss

Turin: Ex Italy manager Luciano Spalletti on Thursday signed as the new Juventus boss, taking command of the Turin giants after they sacked Igor Tudor on Monday following a slump in form. The former Italy, Napoli, Inter, and AS Roma coach signed a contract running until the end of the season that will be renewed if Juve qualify for next season’s Champions League, the club said. Juventus defeated Udinese 3-1 in Turin on Wednesday with caretaker coach Massimo Brambilla on the bench to end an eight-match winless streak. They are seventh in Serie A with 15 points from nine games.

According to Ansa News Agency, Spalletti was sacked as Italy coach in June after the Azzurri lost their opening 2026 World Cup qualifier 3-0 in Norway. Spalletti, 66, has signed a deal with Juventus until June 30, 2026, the club announced in a statement, calling the former Italy coach “highly competent and experienced.” “We are delighted to welcome him to the Juventus family: welcome to Juventus and good luck, mister,” was the message for the new coach.
