Skiing: Marta Bassino to Miss 2026 Winter Olympics After Leg Fracture
Milan: Italian skier Marta Bassino looks set to miss the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics after fracturing her tibia in training in Val Senales on Wednesday. She underwent surgery in Milan, and the doctor who operated on her said she probably won’t be able to ski for four to six months.
According to Ansa News Agency, the 29-year-old from Piedmont suffered the injury in a fall while tackling a flat section of the Leo Gurschler slope. The Winter Olympics are scheduled to take place from February 6 to 22.
