Rome: Security has been bolstered around Rome’s Great Synagogue and the city’s Jewish ghetto following a deadly attack in Washington. The murder of two Israeli embassy staff members outside a Jewish museum in Washington has prompted heightened vigilance in Rome, sources confirmed on Thursday.

According to Ansa News Agency, Italy’s security agencies are actively working to prevent potential copycat attacks. The focus remains on ensuring the safety of critical sites across the city. Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi emphasized that while there is no immediate cause for alarm, vigilance has been intensified.

Minister Piantedosi stated, “Attention was already at the highest level and we have raised it further.” He assured that numerous sites are under constant surveillance, reflecting the government’s commitment to public safety.
