Sanremo Song Festival’s Second Night Captivates 11.7 Million Viewers
Sanremo: The second night of the 2025 Sanremo Song Festival captivated an average of 11.7 million viewers, accounting for 64.5% of the TV audience share. The event, hosted by Carlo Conti, who doubled as the artistic director, is being broadcast on Rai1 and will continue until Saturday.
According to Ansa News Agency, the evening featured co-hosts including 40-year-old supermodel Bianca Balti, who faced ovarian cancer last year, as well as comedians and TV personalities Nino Frassica and Cristiano Malgioglio. A standout moment came as former Maneskin frontman Damiano David paid homage to the late Bologna singer and songwriter Lucio Dalla with a performance of his 1988 song “FelicitĀ ” (Happiness), serving as the evening’s guest star.
The festival witnessed a strong start on its opening night Tuesday, attracting an average of 12.6 million viewers, representing 65.3% of the audience share. This year’s audience composition includes, for the first time, small screen viewers who engage via personal computers, smartphones, or tablets.
In contrast, the previous year saw the second night of the popular TV event and song contest draw an average of 10.3 million viewers or 60.1% of the TV audience share. This was slightly lower than in 2023 when the average viewers for the same night stood at 10.6 million, making up 62.3% of the share.
