Salvini Opts to Stay in Italy Amid Potential Rail Sabotage Concerns

Rome: League leader, Deputy Premier and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini has decided not to attend Donald Trump’s inauguration Monday but the right-wing party will be represented by its European Parliament delegation chief Paolo Borchia who will be in Washington along with other representatives of the Patriots for Europe group, the League said Saturday.

According to Ansa News Agency, Salvini has chosen to remain in Italy in light of a possible wave of sabotage that is emerging on the railways front after a complaint by the FS group and a bike chain left on an overhead line Thursday.

Salvini hopes to be able to go to the United States as soon as possible, the League said.
