Boy, 15, Beaten by Father Because Gay

Naples: A 15-year-old boy was beaten and subjected to death threats by his 48-year-old father in Naples because he is gay, the teenager reported to teachers this week. The troubling incident has brought attention to the ongoing issues of violence and discrimination faced by LGBTQ+ individuals.

According to Ansa News Agency, the youngster received his father’s latest death threat on WhatsApp while he was at school. Concerned for his safety, his teachers persuaded him to report the alleged violence to the police, leading to the arrest of the father. The man, who reportedly hit his son with a wrench, has been charged by the Carabinieri for mistreatment and assault.

The police stated that the father allegedly struck his son in the face, neck, and legs. The case has sparked discussions about the need for better protection and support systems for young LGBTQ+ individuals who face violence and discrimination within their own homes.
