Los Angeles: Isabella Rossellini expressed her wish to share her Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress with her late parents, Ingrid Bergman and Roberto Rossellini, after the announcement on Thursday. The 72-year-old actress, celebrated for her role in “Conclave,” reflected on the legacy of her illustrious parents, the great Swedish-born actress and the Italian directing legend.

According to Ansa News Agency, Rossellini reminisced about her youth when she was often recognized as the daughter of Ingrid Bergman and Roberto Rossellini. “Now that I’m older, this happens less frequently; and I miss it, especially today,” she remarked, expressing a longing for her parents’ presence to celebrate her success.

In addition to honoring her parents, Rossellini paid tribute to the late David Lynch, the iconic director known for films such as “Blue Velvet” and “Mulholland Drive,” who passed away recently. She acknowledged Lynch’s significant influence on her career, both as a romantic partner and a professional collaborator, noting, “Our collaboration was fundamental to my understanding of the art of acting.”

Reflecting on her role in “Conclave,” Rossellini shared how her personal history contributed to her portrayal of Sister Agnes. She credited the film’s director, Edward Berger, and praised the exceptional cast and crew, particularly highlighting Ralph Fiennes for his incomparable performance.
