Rome Uni Pro-Pal Demonstration Escalates with Firecrackers and Paint at Dean’s Office
Rome: Firecrackers, smoke bombs, and paint were thrown Tuesday at the entrance to the rector’s office during a pro-Palestinian student march at Rome’s Sapienza University. The demonstration saw students voicing their demands and expressing their stance as they moved through the university.
According to Ansa News Agency, the students were heard chanting, “Polimeni, we’re outside the dean’s office,” in reference to Antonella Polimeni, as they continued their march within the university premises. The demonstrators called for Polimeni to “tear up the agreements with Israel,” highlighting their opposition to the university’s ties with the country.
