Romanian Man Confesses to Killing Two Romanian Sex Workers in Tuscany

Rome: A 32-year-old Romanian man has confessed to the murders of two Romanian sex workers, one who vanished last August and another whose body was discovered this week.

According to Ansa News Agency, the man, identified as Vasile Frumuzache, admitted to the Italian police that he killed the first victim, Ana Maria Andrei, after she allegedly refused to engage in sex work with him. The incident took place in Montecatini Terme, a spa town in northern Tuscany, on August 1 of the previous year. Frumuzache confessed to stabbing Andrei and led the authorities to where he disposed of her body, which was recovered on Thursday.

The second victim, Maria Denisa Adas Paun, a 30-year-old Romanian sex worker, was found decapitated on Wednesday near an abandoned farmhouse in the same Tuscan town. The suspect, who works as a security guard, admitted to strangling Paun in a residence in Prato. He then decapitated her, placed her head in a rubbish bag along with the rest of her body, and concealed it in a suitcase in the trunk of his car. Frumuzache claimed that he murdered Paun because she was blackmailing him, threatening to expose his patronage of her services to his wife unless he paid her 10,000 euros.

Frumuzache is married and has two young children. The revelation of these crimes adds to a growing list of femicides that have shocked Italy in recent times.
