Putin Didn’t Discuss ‘Practical Peace Solutions’ with Pope

Moscow: The Kremlin announced on Thursday that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Pope Leo XIV did not engage in discussions about a negotiated solution to the war in Ukraine “in a practical, concrete manner” during their telephone conversation on Wednesday.

According to Ansa News Agency, the Kremlin stated that during the call, Putin “expressed a high appreciation of the Vatican’s contribution to the resolution of various humanitarian issues.” The conversation highlighted the ongoing humanitarian efforts but did not venture into specific peace negotiations concerning the conflict in Ukraine.
