Rome: Premier Giorgia Meloni expressed “deep grief” over the passing of Pope Francis, stating that “a great man has left us.”
According to Ansa News Agency, Meloni shared her sentiments during an interview with Rainews, highlighting the significance of Pope Francis as “the Pope of the people, the Pope of the least ones.” In her address to Tg1, Meloni reflected on her personal relationship with the pontiff, describing him as someone with whom she could discuss any topic, emphasizing the special bond they shared.
In an official statement, Premier Meloni reiterated her view of Pope Francis as a great man and shepherd, emphasizing his role in steering a new direction towards peace. “Pope Francis has returned to the house of the Father,” she remarked, expressing profound sadness at his departure.
