‘Francis Prayed for Ukraine, Eternal Memory’ – Zelensky

Vatican City: Pope Francis prayed for Ukraine and will be an eternal memory, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said after the Argentine pontiff’s death at the age of 88 Monday. “Millions of people around the world are mourning the tragic news of the death of Pope Francis,” he said on social media. “His life was dedicated to God, to people and to the Church.”

According to Ansa News Agency, Zelensky highlighted Pope Francis’s ability to give hope, alleviate suffering through prayer, and promote unity. “He prayed for peace in Ukraine and for Ukrainians,” Zelensky stated. “We mourn together with Catholics and all Christians who sought spiritual support in Pope Francis. Eternal memory!”
