Pope Francis to Resume Leadership After Health Crisis, Says Cardinal Parolin

Rome: Pope Francis is set to return to leading the Catholic Church following a 38-day hospitalization due to pneumonia, though his approach may differ from before the health crisis, according to Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin.

According to Ansa News Agency, Cardinal Parolin commented on the Pope’s condition during an event at the ‘Chair of Welcome’ at the Fraterna Domus in Sacrofano, near Rome. Parolin emphasized that Pope Francis remains deeply connected with the Church and its followers, as evidenced by the outpouring of affection and prayers during his illness. The Cardinal acknowledged the prevalence of messages from individuals expressing their prayers for the Pope’s full recovery and his return to Church leadership.

Parolin noted that while Pope Francis may not govern as he did prior to his illness, alternative methods will be explored to ensure he can continue his duties effectively.
