Pope Francis Enjoys Restful Night in Hospital amid Ongoing Treatment

Rome: Pope Francis had another restful night in Rome’s Gemelli hospital, where he is spending the 12th anniversary of his election as the head of the Catholic Church, the Holy See Press Office said on Thursday. The 88-year-old Argentine pontiff was admitted to the hospital on February 14 and is being treated for bilateral pneumonia.

According to Ansa News Agency, the Vatican reported on Wednesday that the pope’s clinical situation remained stable, with a chest X-ray showing slight improvements, though the context remains complex. Francis continues to receive high-flow oxygen therapy during the day and non-invasive mechanical ventilation overnight.

The Holy See Press Office’s update provides reassurance about the pope’s condition as he marks a significant milestone in his papacy. His ongoing treatment at Gemelli hospital is being closely monitored by his medical team, ensuring he receives the necessary care during this time.
