Pompeii Wall Falls After Campi Flegrei Quakes

Pompeii: A wall and a portion of the ceiling partially collapsed in Pompeii following a seismic swarm in the nearby volcanic area of the Campi Flegrei on Thursday. The structural damage prompted immediate safety measures in the affected area.

According to Ansa News Agency, the domus had previously sustained damage in the large Irpinia earthquake of 1980. While the recent tremors did not result in any injuries, officials have taken precautions by cordoning off the domus. Fortunately, there are no frescoes or ornaments in the affected area, minimizing the cultural loss.
