Police Arrest 73 in Sweeping Op Against Youth Crime

Rome: Police have arrested a total of 60 adults and 13 minors on charges including drug trafficking and attempted murder in a sweeping operation across Italy, investigative sources said on Wednesday.

According to Ansa News Agency, a total of 142 others, including 29 minors, have been reported to judicial authorities for illegal possession of weapons and drug possession and trafficking. The operation aimed to tackle the escalating issue of youth crime in the country.

Police seized stolen jewellery and cell phones, weapons, and drugs during the operation. Authorities have also requested the shutdown of 600 social media profiles that were found to be inciting hatred and violence, including threats against security officials.
