PM Orbán Discusses New Economic Policy with Industry Leader

Budapest: Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has engaged in discussions with Laszlo Parragh, the head of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK), to outline the government’s New Economic Policy Action Plan. The meeting, held at Orbán’s office, focused on identifying strategies to navigate Hungary’s economic growth amid the evolving post-pandemic global landscape and the ongoing consequences of the war in Ukraine.

According to About Hungary, both parties concurred that Hungary requires innovative solutions and economic policy tools to thrive under the current circumstances. They highlighted the potential benefits of adopting a policy of economic neutrality, suggesting it could facilitate a growth rate of 3-6 percent by 2025. The action plan, as detailed by Prime Minister Orbán, aims to enhance purchasing power, provide affordable housing, and support small and medium-sized enterprises through the launch of the Demjan Sandor Programme.

d fruitful” collaboration between the government and the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, affirming the government’s commitment to continue this partnership.
