PD Treating Citizens Like Fools with Gaza Says Meloni

Lamezia terme: The centre-left opposition Democratic Party (PD) is treating Italian citizens like fools with its stance on the Gaza war and its recognition of Palestine as a State, Premier Giorgia Meloni declared at an election rally ahead of the upcoming Calabrian regional elections.

According to Ansa News Agency, Meloni spoke in support of the centre-right incumbent Governor Roberto Occhiuto, highlighting the recent victory of the centre-right’s Francesco Acquaroli in the Marche region as evidence that “citizens are more intelligent than the Left makes them out to be.” She criticized the Democratic Party’s tactics, asserting that voters focus on tangible results and job creation rather than being swayed by what she termed as “facile slogans and smoke and mirrors.”

Meloni further emphasized that voters would not be deceived by promises such as the establishment of a Palestinian state, a notion she described as a desperate move by the Democratic Party. She made these remarks in Lamezia Terme during the centre-right rally for Occhiuto’s candidacy for the presidency of Calabria. Meloni concluded her speech by condemning the “cynicism of those who exploit tragedies to garner votes,” reinforcing her stance against the PD’s approach.
