No Sexist Insult, No Resentment Landini Tells Meloni

Rome: CGIL trade union leader Maurizio Landini on Thursday denied calling Premier Giorgia Meloni’s claim he had effectively called her a prostitute in saying she was a courtesan to United States President Donald Trump. “No sexist insults and no hard feelings,” said Landini.

According to Ansa News Agency, Landini clarified his controversial remarks made during an interview on the show ‘Di Marted¬’ with host Giovanni Floris. In the ten-minute segment, which is available for public viewing, Landini responded to a query about the truce agreement in the Middle East and took the opportunity to elaborate on his comments to prevent any misunderstanding or misuse of his words. He stated that his intention was to express a political judgment, critiquing what he perceived as the government’s ineffective role and Meloni’s alignment with Trump, describing her actions as akin to following in Trump’s footsteps, being at his court, and acting as his errand boy.

Landini emphasized that his remarks were meant as a political critique rather than a personal attack, underscoring the importance of understanding his words within the context of governmental performance and international relations. His statement aimed to clarify his position and address any misinterpretations or personal affronts that might have arisen from his initial comments.
