Husband and Wife Found Dead in Suspected Murder-Suicide in Abruzzo

San benedetto del tronto: An ailing 80-something couple were found dead at their home in Abruzzo Thursday and police suspect a murder-suicide by the man, they said. The man is thought to have pointed a gun at his terminally ill wife, killing her, and then at himself, committing suicide in a home on Via Volta in San Benedetto del Tronto (Ascoli Piceno).

According to Ansa News Agency, Carabinieri from the local station are investigating a suspected murder-suicide after the bodies of the elderly couple were found in their home this afternoon. The bodies were discovered by family members who went there after receiving no response to attempts to contact them.

The couple were then confirmed to be lifeless by 118 paramedics. Carabinieri arrived on the scene and the Ascoli Piceno Prosecutor’s Office was notified.
