Rome: A group of 12 Italian neo-Nazis arrested on Wednesday reportedly discussed plans to attack Premier Giorgia Meloni, according to police statements. The arrests were part of a broader investigation led by the Digos security police and the Bologna Public Prosecutor’s Office, which sought to dismantle the neo-Nazi cell.
According to Ansa News Agency, the group faces multiple charges, including the “preparation of serious attacks” targeting Meloni and an economist associated with the World Economic Forum. The warrants issued highlight the severity of the alleged plots and the potential threat posed by the group.
In addition to planning attacks, the group is accused of engaging in propaganda, recruitment, and planning violent actions. These actions reportedly included a “purge” against members perceived as traitors to their movement, further demonstrating the group’s extremist ideology and willingness to resort to violence.
