Rome: Premier Giorgia Meloni and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban expressed their support for a just peace in Ukraine following discussions held in Rome on Wednesday. The meeting, which took place at Palazzo Chigi, focused on enhancing political dialogue and coordinating on significant international issues.

According to Ansa News Agency, the two leaders issued a joint statement emphasizing their commitment to these objectives. The statement highlighted their discussions on the situation in the Middle East, their shared support for a just and lasting peace in Ukraine based on principles outlined in the United Nations Charter and international law, and their commitment to Ukraine’s reconstruction. The leaders also noted Italy’s upcoming role as host of the Ukraine Recovery Conference in July 2025, showing a long-term commitment to the region’s stability and rebuilding efforts.
