Napoli Score Late to Stay Within 1 Pt of Inter

Napoli: Napoli scored late on to stay within one point of champs and leaders Inter Milan at the top of Serie A Saturday.

According to Ansa News Agency, Denmark midfielder Philip Billing slotted home in the 86th minute to wipe out Italy left wing back Federico Di Marco’s curling free kick from the edge of the box in the 22nd minute. The early goal had fueled Inter’s hopes of going four points clear with 11 games to go.

Napoli almost secured the win in a goalmouth scramble towards the end of the match. Currently, Inter have 58 points, and Napoli 57.

Atalanta, who played out a 0-0 draw at home against second-bottom Venezia earlier in the day, are third with 45 points.
