Mattarella Meets Croatian Counterpart Milanovic to Discuss EU’s Role in Peacebuilding

Zagreb: President Sergio Mattarella underscored the European Union’s contribution to peace and prosperity during a meeting with Croatian President Zoran Milanovic over a working lunch on Monday.

According to Ansa News Agency, Mattarella emphasized that Europe was established to provide a peaceful future to a continent historically plagued by wars. He highlighted that the peace Europe has experienced for over 70 years serves as a model for the international community.

Mattarella noted the growing challenges facing the EU and stressed the importance of all member states’ active involvement to strengthen and integrate the union. He argued that Europe’s ability to adapt to a changing geopolitical landscape relies heavily on this unity and shared purpose.
