Man Dies in Reggio Emilia Hospital After Police Use Taser

Rome: A 41-year-old man died in a hospital in Reggio Emilia on Monday after being tasered by police, sources said.

According to Ansa News Agency, the officers used a stun gun on the man, who was a multiple convicted felon, after he went on a rampage in the hamlet of Massenzatico early on Monday.

An investigation has been opened into the incident. This event is part of a troubling trend, as two men in Italy died last month after being tasered. These deaths followed another similar case in June. In two of those cases, autopsies determined that the deaths were not linked to the use of the taser.
