Man Confesses to Wife’s Murder Amid Rising Femicide Cases in Italy


Spoleto: A man threatening to throw himself off a bridge in Spoleto on Wednesday revealed to passers-by that he had killed his wife in the center of the picturesque Umbrian town, marking Italy’s latest femicide.



According to Ansa News Agency, the man reportedly confessed, “I have killed my wife.” Following his admission, authorities discovered the woman’s body in their home. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of her death. As of now, the man is in the local prosecutors’ office, and police have stated that he has not yet been charged with any crime.



Italy is currently facing a prolonged series of femicides, which has prompted the government to take action in addressing this grave issue.
