‘Killed for Headphones’, Rezza Sentenced to 27 Years

Milan: Milan man Daniele Rezza was sentenced to 27 years Wednesday for the murder of Manuel Mastrapasqua, a 31-year-old man stabbed to death on the street in Rozzano near Milan last October for a pair of wireless headphones costing a few euros.

According to Ansa News Agency, the Milan Prosecutor’s Office had requested a sentence of twenty years. However, the court decided on a lengthier sentence for Rezza, reflecting the severity of the crime and its impact on the victim’s family.

Mastrapasqua’s mother, Angela Brescia, expressed her feelings about the sentencing, stating that Rezza “must serve all 27 years in jail”. The case has drawn attention to the senselessness of violence over trivial possessions, urging a reflection on societal values.
