Decapitated Body on A22: Head Found After 17 Years

Chiusa: The head of a decapitated body discovered on February 21, 2008, along the A22 Brenner motorway near Chiusa in northern Italy, has finally been located in Germany. Legal sources have informed German media about this development.

According to Ansa News Agency, the body remained unidentified for 17 years, until a recent breakthrough by the Bolzano Public Prosecutor’s Office resolved the long-standing cold case. The crime, which occurred in Germany, was perpetrated by the victim’s father-in-law, Alfonso Porpora, who has Sicilian roots.

The discovery was made by the new owner of Porpora’s former residence in Sontheim an der Brenz, Germany, who stumbled upon a skull buried beneath concrete slabs in the garden. Authorities are now awaiting DNA test results to confirm the identification conclusively.
