Italy-Turkey Meeting Highlights Family Businesses as Socio-Economic Model

ISTANBUL: The Italian Embassy in Turkey hosted a new stage of ‘Meetrkitaly’, a series of meetings aimed at sharing success stories between Italy and Turkey, at Palazzo di Venezia in Istanbul. The event focused on the role of family businesses in fostering economic development in both countries.

According to Ansa News Agency, Italian Ambassador to Turkey, Giorgio Marrapodi, introduced family business expert Alessandro Scaglione, who has authored numerous publications on the subject. The dialogue centered on the value of family business continuity as a model for socio-economic success. Marrapodi emphasized that family businesses are the backbone of both Italy and Turkey’s economies, describing this shared characteristic as a point of connection between the two nations.

The event was attended by representatives from the Italian and Turkish economic and social sectors. Discussions highlighted the significant contributions of family businesses to the economies of both countries and the challenges they face in a competitive, interconnected, and digital global market. The dialogue also explored the role of family as a societal nucleus and its potential to drive economic progress with the creativity and flair characteristic of both Italy and Turkey.
