Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce Kicks Off 2025 at Embassy Event
Prague: The Italian Embassy in Prague hosted the ‘New Year Opening Reception 2025’ for the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Camic), marking the beginning of a new year of activities. Numerous Chamber members and institutional guests attended the event held in the embassy’s representative halls.
According to Ansa News Agency, Ambassador of Italy to the Czech Republic Mauro Marsili opened the reception by highlighting the strong operational synergy between the Italian Embassy and Camic, which aims to promote and strengthen Sistema Italia. Marsili expressed optimism that this collaboration would be further enhanced in 2025.
Camic President Danilo Manghi addressed the gathering, affirming the Chamber’s commitment to investing in ambitious projects. He emphasized the focus on high know-how content topics and strategic areas to stimulate competitiveness. Manghi outlined the Chamber’s plans to foster strategic partnerships between Italian and Czech companies in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, automotive, aerospace, and healthcare, in cooperation with Italian and Czech institutions.
During the evening, the prestigious Golden Badges were awarded. This award, presented since 2004, recognizes individuals who actively contribute to the development of relations between the Czech Republic and Italy. This year’s recipients were the Honourable Nazario Pagano, for his significant role in enhancing bilateral relations and support for the Chamber, and Leonardo Ferrandino, CEO of the pharmaceutical group Dr. Max, for his efforts in expanding Czech business presence in Italy and strengthening Italo-Czech relations in the pharmaceutical sector.
The reception also featured the presentation of the Marchio Ospitalit Italiana certificate to several Prague restaurants including Aromi, La Finestra, Ichnusa Botega Bistro, Lore MalaStrana, Sasy.Re, and Le Cinque Corone Pizzeria Pulcinella. Camic Secretary General Matteo Mariani explained that the label is a global project certifying restaurants that adhere to standards of Italian catering abroad, such as using Italian raw materials and employing Italian-speaking staff or chefs with experience in Italy. Additionally, Camic board member Francesco Augusto Razetto unveiled the 2024 Yearbook, showcasing a cover designed by Czech-Canadian artist David Strauzz.
